Condition

Evenly toned, a few closed tears to the interior, marginal losses, mostly along the lower margin, colors still quite vibrant. Now stitch-mounted to a framed fabric backing and encased in Plexiglas.

Catalogue Note

Joseph Morse began construction of his stone house in Eaton in 1802, but it was completed decades later by his son, Ellis. It descended in the Morse family to Adaline Morse, who married into the Mott family, and thence to Mr. and Mrs. Walter W. Mott.
