Catalogue Note

Mondrian constructed furniture out of fruit crates such as this one and painted
them white. Crates of this type were included in a reconstruction of Mondrian’s
New York studio in the exhibition “Piet Mondrian: 1872-1944” at the Museum of
Modern Art, New York from October 1, 1995 – January 23, 1996.
