  • Two Qajar Pottery Tiles
  • glazed earthenware
  • 20 by 19.3cm., 7 7/8 by 7 1/2 in.; and 19.5 by 19.5cm., 7 5/8 by 7 5/8 in.
decorated in the cuerda seca technique with bright polychrome painted glazes, set together in one mount

Condition

Both very brightly painted, some minor abrasion along edges, top tile with a small chip to upper right-hand corner, both with some hairline cracks to glaze and pitting, uneven surface as consistent with firing process, both set together onto a wooden mount with hook for hanging, as viewed.
