    Both signed DALOU and with the foundry mark CIRE PERDUE A.-A. HEBRARD and Diane numbered (8) and the Baigneuse inscribed and with a label to the underside inscribed No ordre AT 867
  • Diane: 15 cm, 5 7/8  in.; Baigneuse: 17,5 cm, 6 7/8  in.

Condition

Overall the condition of the two bronzes is good with minor surface dirt, particularly in the crevices, and wear to the patina at the high points consistent with age and handling. The Baigneuse has fill on the inside and minor verdigris in the crevices at several places. There is a tiny bit of waxy residue to Diane at the back.

The M, which the present Baigneuse is marked with, identifies it as the Hébrard foundry's chef-modèle (the first bronze version of this model cast by Hébrard as the qualitative standard for every cast that followed).
