Description
Château Haut Brion 1983
Pessac-Léognan (Graves), 1er Cru Classé
u. 3x3cm, 3x3.5cm, 6 levels into the neck, slightly bin-soiled labels, excellent color and clarity
In 2017, and after 3 weeks without Claret (don't ask - Retsina is pretty good), an inebriating, spicy, rich bouquet of classy earthiness, enveloping you with its whiffs of cigar tobacco. On the palate, I cannot remember it being so opulent, having filled out and become richer with bottle age. It has a mouth-coating, velvet texture, strong personality and aromatic intensity - a fantastic sensation all round. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
