That glorious sweet aniseed nose. Smells like spiced meat - I have had this when medieval meals are recreated and beef is spiced with cloves, cinnamon and allspice. Incredibly heady on the nose. Heavenly and silky, meaty and violetty. A 'grown-up' wine, to be drunk with black truffles. In 2011, great freshness and length, glorious wine that even surprised the Perrin family themselves.
