Description
Taylor 1970
Lot 1067: u. 2bn, 6vts, 2t/hs, chipped and mostly missing wax capsules, slightly loose, heavily scuffed and stained labels, signs of seepage, Lot 1068: u. 4vts, 3ts, 3t/hs, scuffed, stained and loose labels, chipped and mostly missing wax capsules, signs of seepage
Deep, almost crimson colour, astonishing for its age. A real floral/violets scent, lingering and alluring. A phenomenal contrast to the style of 1966. Cherries and liquorice on the nose too. All-enveloping, highly black liquorice taste. Great concentration and body on the palate. Alcoholic dates! Sweet/ripe maraschino cherries at the end. Tastes younger than the 1977! I see a comparison with the 1997 - a hot year and superb wine. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
