Cultured Pearl, Ruby and Diamond Necklace

Composed of 22 cultured pearls measuring approximately 16.9 to 9.9 mm, accented by 21 seed pearls, the clasp set with a cushion-cut ruby weighing 5.70 carats, flanked by round and triangle-shaped diamonds, length 17½ inches.

In fair condition. The round to near-round cultured pearls are silvery white with soft aubergine overtones, with moderate to heavy pitting, ringing and loss of nacre. The ruby is a deep slightly purplish red, moderately included with abrasions to the facet junctions and surface reaching inclusions on the table. The diamonds weighing in total approximately 2.00 carats, are approximately F-G color, SI clarity. Accompanied by AGL report no. 1087174 stating that the ruby is of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating, clarity enhancement: minor, type: oil.
