Designed as a beetle applied with blue and black enamel wings, accented with rose-cut diamonds and two cabochon ruby eyes, the wings open to reveal a circular white enamel dial with painted blue and red Arabic numeral indicators and gilt outer dot minute divisions, mechanical movement, the chain of later addition.


In good condition. The pendant mounting tests as 18 karat gold. The chain tests below 14 karat gold. The blue enamel ranges in color from royal blue to deep blue, in good condition with minor loss of luster to the edge of a wing, not readily apparent when worn. The diamonds decorative in quality. The body composed of nicely textured gold. Movement running at the time of cataloguing. Dimensions of pendant measuring approximately 2 x ⅞ inches. Gross weight approximately 26 dwts.
