Description

The brooch of buckle design, set with single, rose and circular-cut diamonds and highlighted with two natural pearls; and a pair of clip brooches of pierced openwork design, each set with single, rose and circular-cut diamonds.

Condition

Brooch accompanied by GPL, report no. 14612, stating that pearls are natural pearls (saltwater) measuring 6.2-7.1mm and 6.1-7.0mm in width. Brooch: the two central circular-cut diamonds measuring approximately 5.3 x 5.3 x 4.1mm, the other measuring approximately 5.2 x 5.3 x 4.4mm, each calculated to weigh approximately 0.60-0.70 carats. Estimated clarity I, estimated colour I-K. Remaining diamonds are bright and lively, with some surface scratches consistent with wear. Pearls are off round, cream colour, medium lustre, with some very light loss of nacre and some typical imperfections such as banding and small blemishes. Metal with surface scratches and some dents. Brooch fitting can be screwed off, with some play, however closes securely. Brooch length approximately 47 x 33mm. Overall condition commensurate with age. Clips: one central circular-cut diamond measuring approximately 5.3 x 5.3 x 4.1, calculated to weigh approximately 0.60-0.70 carats, estimated clarity SI, estimated colour J-K, the other measuring approximately 5.2 x 5.2 x 3.2mm, estimated to weigh approximately 0.40-0.50 carats. Remaining diamonds are bright and lively, with some surface scratches consistent with wear. Four diamonds deficient. Metal with surface wear, scratches and small pits, some dents. Light discolouration. Clasps with tight tension, but with some play. Each measuring approximately 39 x 30mm. Overall condition commensurate with age.
