The rectangular cream dial with Arabic numerals within a single-cut diamond and calibré-cut emerald bezel, similarly-set geometric and diamond three-stone shoulders, to a mesh bracelet with emerald and diamond clasp, bracelet length approximately 173mm, dial signed Van Cleef & Arpels, case numbered, French assay mark, two emeralds deficient, later modern quartz movement, modern case stamped Van Cleef & Arpels.

Condition

Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement. Later, modern quartz movement fitted by Van Cleef & Arpels. Quartz movement not running at time of cataloguing. Dial signed Van Cleef & Arpels, case numbered on reverse L7475 3839, tongue stamped with French assay marks indicating 18 carat gold, clasp with indistinct marks. Inner case stamped 3839, with French assay marks for platinum and maker's mark. Dial plate appears original but has been restored and refinished. There are two missing emeralds, mid/deep green, typical inclusions visible under magnification, with surface reaching inclusions causing some durability issues, one stone is cracked, some with prominent chips, with surface scratches and rubbed facets consistent with age. Diamonds are bright and lively, chips and scratches consistent with wear. Mesh bracelet with some discolouration, wear visible and slightly misshapen. Clasp closes securely, needs a slight push to open. Scratches to metal consistent with age. Case measuring approximately 14mm, bracelet length approximately 172mm. Overall condition commensurate with age.
