Description

Designed as a sunburst mounted en tremblant, set with a cushion-shaped sapphire weighing 12.96 carats and cushion-shaped, circular-cut and rose diamonds, brooch fitting detachable, later fitted case. 

Condition

Accompanied by SSEF report no. 77059, stating that the sapphire weighing 12.96 carats is of Ceylon origin, with no indications of heating. Later rhodium plated. Sapphire of mid to light blue, medium saturation, transparent, with minor natural inclusions visible to the naked eye. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 24.00 - 26.00 carats, on average G-I colour and VS-SI clarity, as graded in the mounting. Scratches and light abrasions to stone and sapphire surfaces consistent with age and wear. In good condition. Gross weight approximately 52 grams. Overall dimensions approximately 95 x 83mm.
