Of rectangular form, the lid engraved with a heraldic beast in rampant pose, the interior of the lid with numerous inscriptions including the date 1839, a dedicatory inscription to E.P. and H.P., and two similar heraldic beasts, one within a laurel wreath bearing the inscription Tria Juncta in Uno, measuring approximately 7.6 x 4.4 x 2.0mm, British hallmarks, gross weight approximately 99 grams.

Condition

London hallmarks to rim, inside of case and lid for 18 carat gold. some minor discolouration to the interior. Makers marks GC. Light surface scratches consistent with wear. In good condition.
