Gem set and diamond brooch, 1950s

Designed as a bouquet, set with a ruby carved as a flower amongst carved emerald leaves, cabochon sapphires and rubies and brilliant-cut and baguette diamonds.

Overall dimensions approximately 47 x 35mm. Carved ruby measuring approximately 21.5 x 12.7 x 8.8mm, pinkish red in colour, transparent, with typical inclusions visible to the naked eye, some surface-reaching. Emeralds mid-green, transparent, with typical inclusions visible to the naked eye, some surface-reaching, the largest measuring approximately 11.2 x 8.2 x 6.7mm. Remaining sapphire and ruby cabochons mid blue and pinkish red in colour respectively, transparent, with typical inclusions visible under magnification, some surface-reaching. Estimated total diamond weight approximately 2.00 - 3.00 carats. In our experts' opinion, diamonds are approximately I-J colour, VS-SI clarity on average, some I - included. Brooch fitting secure. Scratches to stone and metal surfaces consistent with wear. In good condition.
