Description

  • Ruby/diamond/gold/platinum
Comprising: a pair of ear clips of hemispherical form with pierced geometric apertures, claw-set with circular-cut rubies and brilliant-cut diamonds, one signed Van Cleef & Arpels, numbered, the other unsigned, French assay and maker's marks, each with one ruby deficient; and a ring, size M, numbered, three rubies deficient; 1944.

Condition

Earclips: one ear clip fitting signed Van Cleef & Arpels N.Y., numbered 7150 on clip fitting. Other ear clip with French assay mark for 18 carat gold, French maker's mark R.S. with star, for Senez, Dieppe, on clip fitting. Clip fittings with hinged posts. Each ear clip with one ruby deficient. Each approximately 24mm diameter. One clip fitting tarnished. Clip fittings and hinged post intact and secure, with good tension. Ring: stamped 18K for 18 carat gold, numbered 8976 on shank. Hemispherical top half approximately 27mm diameter. Three rubies deficient. All rubies purplish-red, transparent, with typical inclusions visible to the naked eye, some surface-reaching. Diamonds bright and lively, estimated total diamond weight approximately 0.50 - 1.00 carats. Light scratches and areas of discolouration to metal surfaces consistent with wear. Light scratches to ruby surfaces consistent with wear. In good condition.
