Star sapphire, ruby and diamond brooch, Trio

Of sunburst design, claw-set to the centre with a cabochon ruby, surrounded by blue and pink cabochon star sapphires and brilliant-cut diamonds, signed Trio.

Stamped 14k for 14 carat gold twice on reverse. Signed Trio twice on reverse. Brooch measures approximately 62mm diameter overall. Central ruby measuring approximately 10.5 x 8.4 x 6mm, calculated to weigh approximately 5.00 - 6.00 carats, purplish red, transparent, with typical inclusions visible to the naked eye, some surface-reaching. Star sapphires in various shades of pale blue and pink, translucent, with silk inclusions among other typical inclusions visible to the naked eye, all showing pronounced six-rayed asterism under spotlight conditions. Diamonds bright and lively, estimated total diamond weight approximately 2.00 - 3.00 carats. Double pin fitting, clasp secure. Light scratches and areas of discolouration to metal surfaces consistent with wear. In good condition.
