Description

Designed in the style of the 'Founders Jewel', forming the letter 'M' for Maria, embellished with cabochon rubies, sapphires, emeralds and paste with seed pearls and white and green enamel, the reverse applied with an ornate rope work design, signed CC for Castellani, Annunciation scene is missing from this version.

Condition
Stamped 750 to reverse. Signed CC to reverse. Sapphires dark blue, rubies purplish red, emeralds light green, all with typical inclusions visible to the naked eye, abrasions and minor chips consistent with wear. Enamel in good condition light scratches. Pearls of cream/grey body colour with medium lustre and pitting to nacre. Annunciation scene is missing from this version. Scratches to metal consistent with wear. Clasp in good order. In good condition.
