Description

Realistically modelled as a Rams head, embellished with garlands of fruiting vines highlighted with circular- and step-cut emeralds tied with orange enamelled ribbons and bows, Austro-Hungarian import marks.

The Jewellery Museum Vicenza, Symbol Room, 1st Edition 2015-2016.

Condition

Mounted in gold, stamped with Austro-Hungarian import marks in use from 1902 to 1922 and in use in Hungary alone until 1937. Wien/Vienna assay office. Some losses to orange enamel on bows and white enamel on scrolls throughout, minor abrasions to emeralds and some with small chips. Left hand Rams horn loose with small traces of lead solder to the reverse. Total weight approximately 39 grams.
