  • Ruby, diamond, gold
Collet-set with an oval ruby stated to weigh 16.25 carats, framed with brilliant-cut diamonds, the mount further enhanced with diamonds of yellow tint, size 50, French assay and maker's marks, sizing beads.

Condition

Accompanied by SSEF report no. 66497, dated 21 January 2013, stating that the oval ruby measuring approximately 18.20 x 12.60 x 7.00mm, calculated to weigh approximately 16 carats, is of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating. Please note that Sotheby's is not responsible for the accuracy of any estimated weights provided by gemmological certificates, that the SSEF report is dated 2013 and might require an update and that the diamonds of yellow tint have not been tested for natural colour. French maker's mark. French assay mark and stamped OR 750 for 18 carat gold. Inscribed R 16.25, B 5.35 and BJ 2.16, referring to the stated carat weight of the ruby, to the stated total carat weight of the brilliant-cut diamonds, to the stated total carat weight of the brilliant-cut diamonds of yellow tint, respectively. Ruby red of medium strong saturation, semi-transparent, with typical inclusions, small scratches and nicks, cavities to the reverse. For more information on the ruby, please refer to the SSEF report. Diamonds of yellow tint well matched in colour. Near-colourless diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 5.00 - 6.00 carats, on average G-H colour, VS-SI clarity, as gauged and graded in the mount. Little signs of wear to the metal. In very good condition. Gross weight approximately 17 grams.
