Gem set and diamond brooch

Of basket design, set with oval, pear- and cushion-shaped rubies, sapphires and emeralds highlighted with brilliant-cut and marquise-shaped diamonds.

Stamped 750 for 18 carat gold and OR for gold. Emeralds green of medium strong saturation, with typical inclusions, some surface reaching, nicks and abrasions. One emerald damaged, large chip on the facet edge. Rubies purplish red to red of medium saturation, typical inclusions visible to the naked eye, few scratches and nicks. Sapphires blue and orange of medium strong saturation, with typical crystal inclusions, few nicks and abrasions. Diamonds bright and lively, estimated to weigh a total of 2.25 - 2.50 carats, on average I-J colour, few K-L, VS-SI clarity, as gauged and graded in the mount. Sign of normal wear to the metal consistent with use. Clasp secure, sliding safety catch. In good condition. Measurements approximately 53 x 30 x 15mm. Gross weight approximately 21 grams.
