Condition

The following condition report was kindly provided by Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc.: This work has an old glue lining. The canvas is well stretched. The paint layer is stable and clean. In the sky, there is retouching from the top of the campanile running into the upper right. There are further retouches in the upper center and upper left. There are no notable retouches at all in the architecture or water. The retouching in the sky may be slightly overzealous, and it is possible that it addresses brushiness to the paint layer rather than any actual damage. Nonetheless, the work looks well and could be hung as is.
