Condition
Overall good condition. The bronze presents with a rich russet brown and red patina. With minor traces of oxidation to the recessed areas of the armature. The bronze appears to have been sprayed with a transparent lacquer at some point in the history of the piece, and there are some minor losses to the lacquer around the circumference of the collar of the lower portion of the jar, only visible when the lid is removed. The blown favrile glass with a hairline crack that encircles the lower base and splits in a few areas, in one area extending upward to the second row of the armature. The hairline appears stable. The interior of the jar has been enhanced with a layer of green paint at some point in the history of the piece. A very attractive object displaying impressive scale and strong visual presence when viewed in person.
