Condition

Overall very good condition. The shade with approximately 4 cracks to the glass dispersed throughout, which is a low number in proportion to the vast number of individual small glass tiles which were required to execute this complex pattern. The shade is very slightly out of round, barely detectable when the lamp is assembled. The lamp has recently been stabilized and conserved by a professional Tiffany conservator. Eight tiles composing one of the larger leaves have been sensitively replaced with period Tiffany glass that is highly complementary and harmonious with the shade. The hairlines noted above were also sensitively stabilized. The top reticulated bronze armature of the shade is finely cast displaying fine detailing to the branching. The top armature and shade leading display a particularly rich green patina. The interior of the upper shade armature appears to be enhanced with green paint. The shade with surface soiling to the adjacent contours of the shade leading. The patinated bronze surfaces of the Tree base display with a wonderfully variegated green and russet patina, which shifts from predominantly green tones on the foot of the base to more red and russet brown tones on the base standard. The base with some occasional extremely minor irregularities inherent in the casting, not visually detractive. The base with some light surface soiling to the recessed contours of the design. All three sockets appear original and undisturbed. The base switch has been replaced. A superb example of this charming model, executed in lively, dynamic and saturated palette ranging from deep rich reds to pastel pinks, green and yellow striated glass, and passages of translucent brilliant aqua blue glass. The lamp presents beautifully, and when viewed in person shows even richer and more nuanced coloration compared to the printed catalogue illustration.
