Condition
Grey hardback portfolio with 43 loose sheets. The sheets range in size from 10.5 by 21.7cm (Drawing 34) to 38.5 by 22.7cm. (Drawing 1). Drawings 9 and 27 bear the artist's monogram. The drawings are executed on a variety of supports, including the verso of a wedding invitation (Drawing 7) and the frontispiece of an exhibition catalogue (Drawing 6), although for the most part they are executed on cream, beige or grey wove paper. The sheets are in generally good original condition consistent with their age and studio provenance although they show signs of wear with creasing and small tears and losses to the edges. There are larger tears to Drawings 1, 27 and 32 and losses to the corners of Drawings 9 and 21. The sheets are lightly time-staining and there are studio stains to several works, notably Drawings 8, 12, 13 and 32.
