Catalogue Note

THE RARE SPANISH EDITION, including two printed letters by Darwin not published in other editions or translations. Both letters concern the Spanish translation: in the first, Darwin expresses how he "shall be pleased and honoured to have my book translated into Spanish"; the second discusses the arrival of the running sheets, which Darwin declines to read since "from want of practice I have forgotten much of what I formerly knew of your fine language".
