Condition

Overall very good condition consistent with age and gentle use. Minor brown stain to the corner of one of the decorations situated in the left side proper to the center of the rug.

Catalogue Note

Born in 1901 in Sweden, Ingrid Hellman-Knafve attended the workshops of Maria Nordenfeldt until 1933. Setting up her own studio in her hometown of Kinna, she continued to produce woven carpets, mostly specializing in floss mats. She would later collaborate with on larger interior design projects in Gothenburg with architect Otto Schultz. Her breakthrough came whilst attending the 1944 Svenskt Tenn exhibition in Stockholm.
