Catalogue Note

This Chartres is a unique object, conceived in the midst of the financial crisis in 2009. It is the first in a series called Aftermath a set of 5 unique sculptures, a series which Studio Job are still developing. This first piece, bought by a private collector straight from the Atelier in 2012, was created before the Chartres edition, one of which is currently on display in the Metropolitan Museum, New York. Uniquely this sculpture is the only version with oak doors inlaid with ebony and 24k gold referencing the original Church doors, religious sculptures and reliquaries. It also uniquely features hand blown polychrome coloured glass windows. Chartres is one of the most complex bronze pieces ever produced by Studio Job.
