Catalogue Note

Echoing her contemporary Alvar Aalto, architect Marta Blomstedt saw her projects as total works of art, designing both the building itself and it’s furnishings, including the lighting and the furniture. The present lot is a close variant of the model designed for the Hotel Aulanko, which retained chromium tubular legs. The model was installed in the lounge area of the hotel and completed the modernist lines and sweeping designs of the hotel itself.
