Always pushing the boundaries of how light can be transformed into a visual language, Ingo Maurer employs a multitude of unconventional materials on his designs. No material is left unconsidered. Maurer incorporates a variety of materials including broken porcelain dinnerware (lot 150), plastic toys, feathers and here, aluminium honeycomb. A material normally reserved for industrial purposes, here it serves as a perfect combination of light diffusor and sculpture.
