Catalogue Note

Born in Paris, Joana Vasconcelos lives and works in Portugal. Her art appropriates and reinterprets objects with a playful misleading process. Often dealing with themes such as national identity, her work also engages with issues that concern the status of women and class distinction in contemporary society,

As a rewriting of Arne Jacobsen`s iconic Egg chair designed in 1958, the Eggnetic chair suggests a witty and colourful upholstery addition to the silhouette of this recognisable Scandinavian design.
