Condition

This work is in very good condition overall. The panels are joined by hinges along the vertical edges of the panels. The lacquer shows minor signs of aging consistent with the artist's choice of medium. Under close inspection, there is evidence of a few scattered areas of stable pigment craquelure and a few, scattered, fine surface scratches. There are some scattered, pinpoint surface accretions noted and some light dust accumulation on the surface. Under close inspection there is evidence of a few minor pinpoint losses to the gold leaf. There is a small loss to the pigment on the reverse of the first panel at the bottom corner. Under close inspection, there is evidence of fine circular craquelure in the center of the third panel.
