Condition

This work is in very good condition overall. The sheet is hinged on the reverse to the backing board in all 4 corners. The colors are bright and fresh. The sheet is unevenly cut and there is a slight undulation to it. The 4 corners of the sheet are slightly dulled. There are a few areas in the red portion of the composition that have stable craquelure and a small, unobtrusive area of pinpoint pigment loss. Under very close inspection, there are a couple of unobtrusive, very minor tears, each less than 1/8 inch, along the center right edge of the sheet. Framed under glass.

Catalogue Note

"I gradually feel myself under the spell of the accumulation and repetition in my nets which expand beyond myself, and over the limited space of canvas, covering the floor, desks and everywhere.”
