Condition

This work is in very good condition overall. The canvas is unlined. There is evidence of very light wear and handling along the edges. The canvas is slightly slack on the stretcher. The brown pigment extending horizontally along the bottom half of the painting is thinly applied and has created an uneven texture, but appears stable and inherent to the artist’s working method. Under raking light there are some light surface abrasions visible. There is a very faint ½ inch unobtrusive vertical surface accretion in the upper left quadrant roughly 5 inches from the left edge. Under Ultraviolet light inspection, there is no evidence of restoration. Framed.
