Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is slightly deeper in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. Extremely close inspection reveals some light and unobtrusive wear to the corner tips. Further very close inspection reveals a very faint stretcher bar impression along the horizontal edges. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultraviolet light.

Catalogue Note

“One thing is certain: the paintings of Adrian Ghenie do not allude to a world beyond (a window into another reality) but are about the world within, about the monad and the personal emotions of an inflected consciousness.”
