Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate. Condition: This work is in good condition. Close inspection reveals some thin and unobtrusive hairline cracks in places along the edges, predominantly to the upper edge. Further very close inspection reveals some further thin cracks in places to the paint. There are a few losses in isolated places, three towards the left side of the figure's head; one to the end of the impasto peak approximately 15 cm from the upper left edge and 30 cm from the left edge; one approximately 20 cm from the upper edge and 30 cm from the right edge; and two to the centre right side of the figure. Visible when examined under ultraviolet light, there are several areas of in-painting, predominantly to the red in the figure's face and in isolated places to the red and yellow paint.
