Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is brighter and more vibrant in the original and the catalogue also fails to fully convey the textured areas of impasto visible in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. Extremely close inspection reveals a few networks of hairline cracks isolated to some of the impastoed areas, as well as a small number of impasto peaks whose tips have been slightly pressed or broken off. There are a number of small nicks and short and unobtrusive tears to the edges of the collaged elements in places, which appear to be original and in keeping with the artist's choice of media and working process. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultraviolet light.
