Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the reds and oranges are deeper and richer and the greys are slightly darker and richer. Condition: This work is in very good condition. Close inspection reveals some evidence of light wear to the corner tips and in places along the edges as well as a small number of faint rub marks towards the left edge. There are some networks of drying cracks isolated to the brown pigment, all of which are stable. There are faint stretcher bar mark impressions along the edges and running vertically at the centre of the composition. Extremely close inspection reveals a short and shallow rubmark towards the centre of the upper left quadrant, and a tiny impact towards the centre of the lower right quadrant, both of which appear to have been consolidated when examined under ultraviolet light.
