Condition

This work is in very good condition overall. The two sheets are adhered together along the central vertical axis. There is evidence of very light wear and handling along the edges of the sheet, most noticeably in the bottom right corner approximately 11 inches from the bottom edge and 12 inches from the right edge of the sheet. Upon very close inspection there is evidence of intermittent pigment losses that run along the aforementioned vertical seam. There are two horizontal creases approximately 1¼ inches in length that are located on the vertical seam, approximately 98 and 46 inches from the bottom edge, respectively. There is lifting along the extreme edges and a soft undulation throughout the sheet, which are inherent to the artist’s installation instructions. This work is accompanied by certificate of authenticity, a reprint package and 11 white binder clips. Unframed.

Catalogue Note

“There’s no screen that has the depth of information. And so it becomes very much about standing in front of this print, and having the spatial relation and movement around it. So I kind of have great faith in the picture: it hasn’t gone away. Fortunately.” Wolfgang Tillmans
