Condition

This work is in very good and sound condition overall. All elements are present and appear to be intact. The surface texture and inconsistencies are inherent to the artist's working method. There are several scatterd pinpoint surface accretions on the dog's left raised leg. There is an 8 by 7 inch area between the shoulder blades of the dog that exhibit a different luster to the rest of the dog's body, with associated cracking, possibly from previous restoration. There is evidence of a stable crack with associated 1/2 by 1/2 inch loss of material to the underside of the dog's neck.
