Condition

This work is in very good condition overall. There is evidence of light wear and handling along the edges with some minor spots of loss at the extreme edges and an irregularity to the canvas along the lower left edge. A light surface soiling is visible in the white painted areas. Under very close inspection, pinpoint spots of loss are visible in the blue-painted areas, some pinpoint media and spot accretions and faint unobtrusive minor abrasions are visible throughout and very fine hairline craquelure is visible in the black of the male figure’s head. Under raking light, horizontal stretcher bar marks are visible along the top and bottom edges. Under Ultraviolet light inspection there is no evidence of restoration. Framed.
