Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although there are more yellow undertones in the original. Condition: This work is in good condition. Close inspection reveals that two of the bones have broken, one on top of the figure's head and one underneath the figure's right armpit. There are two further losses; one to the figure's right hip, and one to the figure's left underarm.

Catalogue Note

“The monk-like figures I have been working on have their origin in my writings about a fluid body, a body consisting exclusively of blood. I have been thinking about what would happen should our internal skeleton be projected outward and become an external skeleton.”
