Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is brighter and the lower bands of pink and orange are bright neon in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. Very close inspection reveals some very light wear to the lower right corner, and a tiny and unobtrusive drip mark to the left edge, approximately 15 cm. from the upper edge. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultraviolet light.

Catalogue Note

“[KAWS] made the realization there’s no distinction between the making of art and placing it in the wider culture. It fits within a long tradition in the art world: Andy Warhol, Marcel Duchamp artists who wanted to take art outside the confines of the museum and engage with the wider culture.”
