Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality tends slightly more towards cream and there is more contrast in the original. The catalogue illustration also fails to fully convey the textured nature of the work. Condition: This work is in very good condition. In places throughout, the varnish has been applied irregularly, leaving small spots unvarnished and a few unobtrusive drip marks. Close inspection reveals a few short cracks towards the centre of the upper left quadrant. Further close inspection reveals a few minor losses; one towards the right edge, approximately 80 cm. from the upper right corner; one to the right side of the protruding to the centre right edge; and one towards the centre of the lower left quadrant. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultraviolet light.
