Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is darker in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. Close inspection reveals some extremely light and unobtrusive surface scratches, rub marks and burnishing in places. There is evidence of oxidisation predominantly to the recesses, and some light dust has settled in places.

Catalogue Note

"Manolo Valdés is one of the most original and prolific artists of modern-day Spain... He has maintained a permanent dialogue with the great artists of the past – Velazquez, Goya, Matisse, Cranach, Masaccio, Manet, etc. – which makes his work complete and integrated in time, a bridge between tradition and modernity."
