Condition
Colour:
The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the central rectangle is more of a pinkish-brown and the outer rectangle is a grayer green.
Condition:
This work is in very good condition overall. There is light evidence of handling along the edges including localized areas of hairline craquelure at the pull margins and a few minor pinpoint spots of loss along the edges. In the central pinkish-brown rectangle, four horizontal areas appear to have been rubbed, revealing the layer of paint underneath, as visible in the catalogue illustration. Under close inspection, some minor and unobtrusive hairline craquelure is visible in the outer navy painted area. Under Ultraviolet light inspection, a few minor and small round spots fluoresce lightly but do not appear to be the result of restoration.
