  • approximately 19ft. by 17ft. 3in. (5.79 by 5.26m.)

Provenance

The Collection of Louise C. Morgan, Sotheby Parke Bernet, New York, May 29-June 1, 1974, lot 1170

Condition

Pile ranges from 1/8 in. to low to knot heads and scattered spot foundation due to foldwear and surfacewear throughout, most extensive in lower right corner. Lower left corner with a 1ft. by 1ft. dark stain as visible in catalogue illustration. Ends with later fringes glued onto outer guard stripe, both ends with some glue residue along the outer guard stripe on the reverse. Sides with sewn on binding on both sides. It is possible that the carpet is incomplete on all four sides and possibly missing another set of guard borders. Very attractive overall design, supple handle, sound fabric and condition.
