  • bronze, dark brown patina

Condition

Overall the condition of the bronze is good with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. Both bronzes are cast in sections and slightly open but stable joints are visible at the tails of both Pegasus horses. There is particular dirt to the wings of the Pegasus ridden by Fame and also to her drapery besides the wings. There are some minor scratches to the surface in areas. There is a small loss to the patina on Mercury's abdomen. There are a few dirt marks to Mercury's Pegasus on his proper right flank and neck. Mercury's scepter is loose. Fame's Pegasus's proper right wing is slightly loose but stable.
