Condition
Overall, the condition of the marble is good with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. The marble has, however, been heavily cleaned with chemicals at some point, leaving an irreversible sheen or waxy shininess to the surface. There is dirt in the crevices. There are some minor chips to the marble, particularly around the edges. There is minor veining to the surface consistent with the material, including a slightly open vein to the drapery of the chest. The green marble column is in good condition overall, with some losses to the edges.
