with a moulded breccia marble top; regilt, restorations

Provenance

Acquired by Lady Lydia Detering (1904-1980) for her residence on Avenue Foch, Paris;
thence by descent to George Bagratouni;
thence by descent to the current owner.

Condition

Repairs and some new elements to the top of frieze underneath the marble. There is an old metal board reinforcing the structure. The gilt surface would benefit from a light clean according to taste, and displays marks and scratches as well as chips exposing the gesso underneath, as visible from the catalogue photograph. The front-right leg broken and repaired. One missing fragment from the rear-left leg.
