The original canvas is lined and the paint layer is stable.
Under u-v light minor augmentation to the sitter's hair and to slight paint loss to the plinth and right hand edge. Remains of an older varnish is evident across the surface.
The painting is in a very good preserved state. Removing the varnish would improve the overall tonality.
